About Journal
In 2007 the International OCSCO World Press as a publishing unit of the WAMME Academy took the efforts of publishing a new journal - Archives of Materials Science and Engineering as a monthly under which the scientific patronage took the Committee of Materials Science of the Polish Academy of Science last year. The journal achieved a very attractive graphic form, a multicolour print and a new format, analogical to the JAMME ones. It also inherited from Archives of Materials Science the subsequent numbering – Volume 28. Ca. 355 authors from 20 countries published 121 full-text and reviewed papers which because of their form were qualified as 8-10-page research ones (27 papers), 6-8-page (25 papers) and 4-page short (69 papers) ones in the AMSE during 2007. Those papers occupy over 768 pages. It is a huge scientific output and also huge editorial and organisational efforts. After a year of experiences on the basis of the agreement between the Chairman of Division IV Technical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Science, Prof. Władysław Włosiński, and the President of the Word Academy of Materials and Manufacturing Engineering AMME, Prof. Leszek A. Dobrzański, since 1st January 2008 the WAMME Academy took the only scientific patronage under that journal which achieved the high level and editorial and organisational efficiency last year. It was decided that the numbering which has been used so far will be continued. The Editorial Team of AMSE decided that since 2008 six volumes will be published yearly, each including 2 Issues – analogically as in a case of the Journal JAMME. At the same time the makeup of the International Editorial Board Members of the AMSE was veryfied since March 2008. The makeup of new International Editorial Board Members of AMSE was appointed by the Authorities of the WAMME Academy. The organisational changes were also made in the narrow group of the Editorial Team of AMSE. In that place I would like to kindly thank the International Editorial Board Members, in the makeup published for the last time in the given issue, for the active cooperation during last year. I would like to thank the authorities of the Polish Academy of Science, and especially of the Committee of Materials Science for the current cooperation and the inspiration of the creation of the given journal. I am convinced that P.T. Readers and P.T. Authors will be faithful to that journal and that it will develop further. It achieved a guaranteed position and the Editorial Team will make all the efforts to keep a high level which has been achieved so far. Then in a relatively short activity the journal AMSE achieved the highest possible mark given to the journals published in Poland by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. At present the aim of the Editorial Team is the introduction of the journal AMSE to the list of Thomson Scientific in Philadelphia (PA) in the USA. Efforts in that direction have been begun.
